Response to Bushfire Emergency

The Rotary Club of Brighton has commenced its response to the current bushfire crisis with a $5000 contribution to the Wilson Storage - Bushfire Appeal via Go Fund Me. All contributions made via this appeal go to the Victorian CFA. Over many years Wilson Storage have been a major supporter of our Club's fundraising efforts. Wilson have matched our $5000 donation, so $10,000 has been contributed to the Victorian CFA.

If you would like to contribute via the Wilson Storage - Bushfire Appeal, they will continue to match contributions up to a maximum of $100,000. Contributions are tax deductible and a receipt will be issued confirming contributions to the Victorian CFA. Please visit Link

Our Club's major fundraiser the Great Australia Day Swim, was held on Sunday 26 January 2020. All proceeds from the Great Australia Day Swim raffle will be contributed to bushfire relief. In addition when registering for the swim competitors had the opportunity to make a donation to the club's bushfire response.

Club President Keith contacted Rotary District Governor 9800 Grant Hocking regarding the Rotary District 9800 Bushfire Disaster Fund. Our club recently made a $10,000 contribution to this fund.

Most recently on 12 March the club donated $500 to Zoos Victoria to assist them with their care of wildlife impacted by the bushfires.
